EVERYDAY ESSENTIALS

A little preparation.
A smoother school day.

These quick guides summarize the handbook. Please read the full document for complete requirements and contact the Administrative Office with questions.

Call the school office ↗
Attendance & absences+

Notify the Administrative Office by phone or email by 8:15 a.m. if your child will miss school or class. An absence not excused within 24 hours is considered unexcused. A doctor’s note is required after three consecutive days of medical absences.

Dress code+

Uniform or collared shirts in blue, white, gray, or black. Pants, shorts, and skirts may be khaki, navy, black, or gray; shorts and skirts must reach at least mid-thigh when seated. No jeans, jean shorts, hats, sunglasses, flip-flops, slides, or Crocs. See section 2 for the complete policy.

Arrival, pickup & visitors+

Drop-off is allowed up to 15 minutes before a student’s academic session. Students must leave within 15 minutes after their session. Notify the office in advance for early departures. All visitors must check in at the front entrance and be escorted on campus; appointments are encouraged.

Lunch, supplies & medication+

Bring a ready-to-eat lunch and snack, or money to purchase items. Personal food delivery services are not permitted. Students should bring headphones, lined paper, pencils or pens, a school bag, and teacher-requested supplies. All medication must be turned in to the front office, with the required parent/guardian and physician forms completed.

Grades & family communication+

Contact the Administrative Office for access to your student’s grades on the school’s online platform. Keep your email and phone information current, check school messages regularly, and respond promptly to requests.

Hybrid learning responsibilities+

Attend the two designated campus days each week and complete a minimum of 15 instructional hours weekly. Remote days require active coursework, parent supervision, reliable internet, and a personal device. Students must keep pace with course completion benchmarks.

Step Up scholarship payments+

Families using Step Up for Students must approve tuition payments in their EMA account each quarter within three days of the quarter opening. Under the handbook policy, course access may be temporarily paused until approval is completed. Contact the office if you need help.

International students & housing+

Contact the school’s PDSO/DSO before international travel and keep contact information current. Supervised shared-apartment housing is described for enrolled international and non-local domestic students in grades 8–12. See sections 13 and 16 for full travel, health, supervision, curfew, and housing requirements.

Student-athlete requirements+

Maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and steady academic progress. Attendance is required on practice, game, and travel days. Hybrid athletes must complete three academic hours before participation. A current physical, personal health insurance, updated contacts, and a signed waiver are required. See section 17 for full details.
